Baccalaureate Service

Baccalaureate is a senior capstone service that takes place on the Saturday evening of Commencement weekend. Unlike more traditional Baccalaureate services that function as Christian church services, our Baccalaureate is a student planned, student led, interfaith celebration of the spiritual journeys of the senior class. If you’re a senior and interested in helping plan this year’s service, please contact Chaplain Powers.

Catholic Campus Ministries

Catholic Campus Ministries are a subset of Christian programming that focus specifically on the needs of the Roman Catholic community on campus.

Common Texts

Common Texts is a discussion group centered around the sacred texts of the Abrahamic faiths. Students gather to discuss the Tanakh, the Gospels, and the Qur’an. Both similarities and differences are explored in open, respectful dialogue. Contact Chaplain Powers for more information.

Christian Student Leadership Council

The CSLC meets to facilitate ecumenical cooperation and understanding among the various Christian groups on campus and is made up of representatives selected from each group. Contact Lisa Ho for more information.

Disciple Bible Study

Disciple Bible Study follows a curriculum designed by the United Methodist Church for in depth, intensive exploration of the whole Bible in 36 weeks. We break the study into two parts, Old Testament and New Testament, which we cover over two school years. The group is limited to 12 people per year. Contact Chaplain Powers for more information.

Spring Break Mission Week

While not an exclusively Christian program, several of our mission teams have specifically Christian foci.

Wednesday Chapel Service

Each Wednesday from 12:10 to 12:40 we have an ecumenical Christian worship service in Peale Chapel on the 3rd floor of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center. The service rotates through various worship styles, such as mainline Protestant liturgical, contemporary evangelical, and contemplative/Taize styles. For more information, or if you would like to participate in some form in a chapel service, contact Chad Johns.

Wilderness Ministry

The wilderness ministry program invites students to engage with the natural world as well as the spiritual aspects of life through activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and reflection.
